Contemporary Research Increases Audio Power on the 232-AMP+

The Contemporary Research 232-Amp+ is a compact, programmable mixer/amplifier aimed at integration with flat-panel displays as well as video projectors which makes it perfect for small meeting rooms, training centers, and classrooms. The 232-AMP+ has now been updated with more audio power from 32 watts to 40 watts and also has been submitted for UL2043 Plenum certification!

This flexible amp includes a stereo line-level display/projector audio input and two mono aux inputs, and outputs stereo sound at 32/40W RMS. The aux inputs mix levels using the stereo input, and can be set to mute or even lower other inputs when active, ideal for wireless mics and paging applications. The Class D amplifier is extremely energy-efficient, using 90% of DC power for amplification, operating with hardly any heat, as well as consuming very little power at all when quiet. When combined with a CR tuner such as the 232-ATSC+ and pole mount bracket such as the PMT-1, the 232-Amp+ functions as an integrated AV tuning/audio answer for video projector installs. The optional SMA bracket mounts the 232-Amp+ to the top of Contemporary Research tuners, and a solitary RS-232 port can easily control a 232-series tuner and amplifier permitting integration with custom control systems. In addition to setting master gain and input levels, the commands can also set max and minimum gain, and aux input threshold and ducking levels. Technicians may change performance by hand in the field using onboard switches and level potentiometer.
